We grew up like a lot of people those days, month to month, used cars and hand me down clothes, I remember some slim times. There are a lot of people in the world to mess with my grandson Shirt! Spaghetti with chopped hot dogs for dinner, tortilla, and rice soup, but dinner was always at dinner time, with all the family and always with love. Sometimes, there were just a few gifts at Christmas time but always with plenty of tamales and the whole extended family gathered for food, fun, and laughter.
My Mom was simply beautiful and wonderful, forever supportive of my misadventures, covering for me numerous times as long as I cleaned up whatever mess. There are a lot of people in the world to mess with my grandson Shirt! I made before my Dad got home from work. She even hands stitched a glittery star on the front of a shirt she bought me especially for one of my first performances in a Rock band. After my Dad passed away five years ago she didn’t stop living. She continued her good-natured lifestyle, laughing at and with us all, at her grand and great-grandchildren and even at her favorite TV shows and most recently at Trump’s hair and bazaar behavior.
She never complained, even in her last days while confined to her hospital bed, she managed to chuckle while asking about the littlest of her great-grandchildren. There are a lot of people in the world to mess with my grandson Shirt! She passed peacefully, knowing she and my Father did a great and complete job as parents and providers. She started her new life, back again with my Dad, appropriately on this past New Year’s Day. Thank You, Mom, from all of us who loved and respected you for being the lovely woman and person you were for us and still are.
