The Minneapolis Police Federation is trying to restore its website after it was overloaded with orders for the “Police for Trump” T-shirt. Alliance president Bob Kroll said on Facebook that the demand for T-shirts is very large and the Alstyle Cops for Trump MPD Federation Shirt! The police alliance began selling T-shirts after the Minneapolis police department banned police from wearing uniforms in political advertising or at events as a candidate assistance program. On Twitter, President Trump thanked the alliance and said he wanted to bring some T-shirts home after his campaign rally in Minneapolis this week.
Kroll revealed the new T-shirt on his Facebook page over the weekend and said it is available for sale at Union Union headquarters northeast of Minneapolis. Kroll said the shirts will also be available for online orders at the Minneapolis Police Department Police website and the Alstyle Cops for Trump MPD Federation Shirt! The Reds read Prohibited Cops for Trump Hui and have an American flag shaped like the state of Minnesota. The design also includes an outline of three common badge shapes, including the shape of the Minneapolis Police Department.
The sale of the shirt came after an exchange between the union, Mayor Jacob Frey and the city sheriff. Leaders of the federation said they were informed that a revision of the police department’s uniform policy led to a decision to ban officers from participating in political activities and the Alstyle Cops for Trump MPD Federation Shirt! In August 2018, several officers appeared in a campaign literary picture with former Governor Tim Pawlenty, who was seeking Republican endorsement for the governor. Police also said they were ordered to appear in the past with Democratic presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
